Welcome to Acorn Farm
Acorn Farm is an award-winning, family-friendly attraction in Kirkby, Merseyside. We’re open 7 days a week 10am-4pm and there’s always loads to see and do! Whatever the weather, Acorn Farm offers a great value, fun day out for everyone! We have a wide range of animals here at the farm, many of which you can feed and stroke. Our animals include sheep, cows, goats, pigs, horses and chickens, small animals such as rabbits and guinea pigs and even meerkats! We’re a working farm, so we often have baby animals including lambs, goat kids, piglets and chicks to see too. During weekends and school holidays, we run small animal petting sessions and horse rides, and we often have special events happening too. You can even hold your child’s birthday party at Acorn Farm! Please see our Events & Activities page to find out more. The farm’s facilities include two outdoor play areas, a woodland walk, plant sales centre and farm shop selling home-produced free-range meat, eggs and dairy milk ice cream as well as toys, souvenirs, sweets and drinks. Our onsite cafe is open 7 days a week, serving a range of daily specials, hearty homemade meals, desserts, snacks and drinks. We also offer an extensive education programme for schools and community groups and run a Day Service for people with learning disabilities. Please visit our Education Services and Day Services pages for more information.

COVID 19 UPDATE
Although we can’t wait to see everyone again, we do not feel that it will be safe to open Acorn Farm to visitors until 21st June (at the earliest).
The main reason for this is that our first priority is to keep the people who we support on the farm, who are extremely vulnerable to coronavirus, as safe as possible. If we were to open earlier then many individuals would not have had their second coronavirus vaccination.
Additionally, while there is still a requirement to social distance we will not be able to run either horse riding or small animal petting sessions which are both very popular activities.
However, we will be opening our plant sales area Mid-April for plant sales only. Please note there will be no access onto the farm site or into the farm building so there will be no toilet or hand washing facilities available. As the plant sales area is small we request that a maximum of 2 adults per household come plant shopping together. The area is not suitable for children. More details to follow!!
We apologise to all of our visitors and we hope to be able to welcome you back to Acorn Farm as soon as it is safe, for everyone, to do so.
Thank you for your understanding.
If you are able to support us with a small donation during this difficult time we would be very grateful. You can donate via our donate button below.
